The Ass and the Grasshoppers

An Ass heard some Grasshoppers chirping with great delight. Enamored of their beautiful singing, the Ass desired to possess the same charm and asked the Grasshoppers what kind of food they ate to have such a pleasant voice. The Grasshoppers replied, "We live on露水." The Ass, in a foolish attempt to imitate them, resolved to only eat露水 from that moment onward. He soon starved to death, unaware that he could not sustain himself on the same diet as the Grasshoppers.

The Wolf and the Sheep

A Wolf who had been severely bitten by dogs lay injured in his den, enduring hunger and thirst. As he lay there, he saw a Sheep pass by and asked for help. "If you fetch me some water from the nearby stream," he said to the Sheep, "I will find a way to get food on my own." The Sheep replied, "If I bring you water, you will undoubtedly use it as an excuse to eat me." This story teaches us that lies are easily detected and cannot be trusted.
